Basic Income Pilots

Basic Income Pilots

A pilot study is undertaken in order to test a new idea as to what its effects would be. Basic Income being a new idea, across the world, several pilot studies have been undertaken in the recent years.
The first known pilot study was conducted in the 1970s in Canada called The Manitoba Basic Annual Income Experiment. After that, the Namibian experiment conducted in 2008 can be seen as the first of its kind in recent years. This was followed by two Indian pilot studies conducted between 2011 and 2013.
Subsequently, several pilot studies have been initiated and they are in different stages of completion in mid-2018.
